Step 9
It will take a up to a few days for the company you are getting your free item from (TV, laptop, gift card, ect) to acknowledge the companies you have signed up with. Make sure you know how to contact the company in case you have questions regarding that. On the front page you should see a place where you can check how many offers you have gotten credit for. If you are having trouble locating this, I would be happy to help you, just send me an e-mail, my e-mail address is at the bottom.
Step 10
SUCCESS! You’ve gotten through all the offers and have canceled everything you have signed up for. Now you will be given access to a prize redemption form that you can print and fill out. Now all you have to do is snail-mail this to the address provided and in a few weeks, your free gift will come in the mail. The last gift I received was a 42” HD TV (worth about $1,600) and it cost me only about $13. I signed up for two things that required a S/H fee. But I thought that was a pretty good deal.
Step 4
The next page will most likely be the place where you enter in your home address, name, and phone number. You DO have to use your real address and name otherwise they won’t be able to ship out your free item. I’ve been getting free stuff for about a year and a half now, and I have never received junk mail in my physical mailbox from doing this, it’s only through your e-mail address that they spam you like crazy (this is why we create a separate e-mail just for getting free items). So once you enter in your information, click next.
Step 5
This next part you will probably find to be the most annoying, and I really hate it also. You’re going to have click through what feels like a hundred pages of ads. Just go ahead and click “no” for every single one them, even though it will take about 10 minutes to get through it. This section has no effect on getting your free item. It’s just a pain in the butt!
Step 6
Great, so now you should be at the section where you can look through the various silver, gold, and platinum offers. I have no idea how they get there different nick names, really makes no sense to me. In the websites that I have gotten free stuff, there are these three pages and on each page you have to sign up for a number of offers. Make sure you understand how many you have to sign up for, you can find that out exactly by taking a look at the terms and conditions.
Step 7
Before you sign up or click on any offer, make sure you have looked through all three pages just to get a feel of what offers that are available. One of the type of offers I will avoid automatically are the credit card offers, because those are just a pain in the butt. Not to mention that if you do that, your credit report will have to be accessed and it just takes more time. There are plenty of other offers that can be done that are a lot more simple. You will see that there are many free trial offers and those are my favorite, because it’s free and in most cases reputable companies are involved, like Netflix. If you have a Netflix offer, I would do that because they will give you a free two week trial that you can use and that’s one less offer you have left to do before you get your free item. Plus you get to rent a couple of DVD’s for free. The thing that is most important in these free trials is that you have to cancel! Or else you will get charged. Make sure that when you sign up and enter in your credit card that you write down every little bit of information you can see on the sign-up page. Pay especially close attention to any phone numbers and ways of contacting the company so that you can cancel. And if it’s a trial that you’re not really that interested in the first place, just cancel your membership the next day that way you won’t have to worry about being charged. So this is the most important point I can make in all of this is that you have to keep track of what you have signed up for. Write everything down! These companies are counting on you forgetting you signed up so they can charge you for a full membership the moment your free trial ends.
